2010 is without a doubt South Africa’s year, as the country puts the finishing touches to its preparations to welcome the world for the Soccer World Cup. It’s also a special year for Conlog as it launches an additional two new ranges of prepaid meters.

Single us out

The single phase meter builds on the success already achieved from the BEC44 range; which was the world’s first DIN rail mounted prepayment meter. The new BEC44(08) range incorporates an even sleeker design, which enables a number of metering devices to be housed within one enclosure – all adding up to a cheaper and quicker installation.

As you’ve come to expect from Conlog, security remains paramount and the meter range offers customers a variety of enhanced tamper detection facilities, as well as reverse energy measurement.

An added benefit is galvanic isolation standard across the range, which ensures absolute safety, no matter the installation environment. Some other standard features include thermal shutdown protection, programmable under and over voltage, as well as compliance to the newly released industry standards.

As with all Conlog products, the product life cycle costs are amongst the most competitive in the world – in fact, many of the Conlog meters installed over 20 years ago are still working without fault in the field. Further, with an installed base of over five million prepaid meters, Conlog’s product have consistently proven their reliability and durability in some of the hardiest environments around the globe.

A new phase in power

A new family has evolved to form the BEC62 range, which brings a whole new platform and evolution to the world of prepayment.

This three phase split meter range, brings all the benefits of split metering whereby the metering device is placed outside the consumer’s premises, and a user interface unit is placed within the abode.

As with the single phase meter, galvanic isolation is standard across the range, along with enhanced tamper protection (security), reverse energy detection and a number of configurable features which ensures that this meter is able to meet your every need.

In terms of the security, an additional feature offered on the meter is the “no power tamper” functionality, which detects tampering even in the absence of an incoming supply!

However, it is the BEC62s ability to operate fully with only one single phase powered, that truly separates this device from the competition. So, no matter your reticulation environment, you are still assured of accuracy and, more importantly, collection of funds for the electricity consumed.
