You arrive at your workplace, ready for another day of work, but instead of fellow colleagues you are greeted by clanging fire engines, flames engulfing your building and fire fighters bellowing instructions to, “clear the area” as there’s no more they can do.
Suddenly you realise that this is the heart of your business. It is here that the computer servers, management systems and vending servers are housed. This is the central repository for all electronic data, such as customer databases, financial records and more.
You’re watching it all go up in flames. Millions of people, millions of transactions, untold amounts of money up in smoke! And then you remember that without that infrastructure, not one customer can purchase electricity and that this is not a quick fix, it’s going to take months to recover. How can customers live without electricity for months … what’s going to happen?
What do you do?
If you’re a Conlog customer, you make one phone call and within a few minutes, you’ve got a fully operational vending infrastructure up and running. No impact to your customers, no days or months without selling electricity … no riots, strikes or other negative scenario’s. It’s business as almost-usual.
That’s because Conlog offers tailor-made Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs) specific to your business requirements. This means that in the event of a disaster, you can quickly enact your solution and ensure business continuity and customer satisfaction.
What do you define as a disaster?
There’s many scenario’s but some of the most common problems to occur include computer viruses destroying your data; hardware failure where computer hard-drives suddenly crash, along with all that critical information; or in the more extreme instances (and sadly, some customers have experienced this first hand) fires, floods and earthquakes which have destroyed entire buildings and all the contents.
What does a DRP contain?
This is a personalised solution which addresses items such as software protection, hardware redundancy and fail-over, data protection and backup, along with physical backup locations (i.e. replicating solutions in another location in case of fire or flood).
Once the solution has been developed, Conlog then provides extensive training as well as role playing for your personnel, so that in the event of a disaster, they are quickly and easily able to deploy the solution.
How much are you prepared to lose?
This is the fundamental question for any utility. What is your data worth? How long will your consumers allow you to not vend electricity? How long can you survive with no income? These are just some of the things that our DRP solutions will assist you with.
So, can you afford not to call Conlog?
